“Investigation of Some Trace Element Levels and Bioclıenıieal Parameters in Sheep with Endoparasite”
“Investigation of Some Trace Element Levels and Bioclıenıieal Parameters in Sheep with Endoparasite” In the present studay. the level of some trace elements and biochemical parameters were examined in sheep infected with gastrointestinal nematods and the relationship between these parameters and eggs per gram of feces EPG was investigated. In this study. twenty sheep formed the control Group which were treated with anthelmentics one month before starting the experiment. Their feaces were examined for nematod eggs and found to be negative at the begining of the study. Sheep which had EPG concentration between 850 and 4200 mean 2028 EPG formed Group 2. Sheep which had EPG concentrations över 4200 mean 10490 EPG formed Group 3. In the study, hematological examinations showed tlıat while red blood celi, packed celi volüme and haemoglobin levels reduced. the number of leucocytes increased in sheep infected with gastrointestinal nematods P 0.01 . Significant reductions in wool Cu and Zn, Plasma Cu and Zn and serum Fe. ALP. seruloplasmine. total protin, albumin and glucose observed compared to the control Group values P 0.01 . Results given in the present study showed tlıat hematological values, some trace element concentrations and biochemical parameters of sheep infected with gastrointestinal nematods reduced. This reduction were negatively corralated with the number of egg per gram nematods
