Deyimler, deyişler ve atasözleri gibi dilimizin zenginlikleri olan özlü söz dizileri, millî kültürümüzün yapısının anlaşılması, farklı coğrafyalara yayılmış Türklerin asırlar boyunca birbirlerinden uzak kalmalarına rağmen kökenlerinin, tarihinin bir olduğunu ifade etmesi bakımından önemli bir yere sahiptir. Önemine binaen birçok çalışmaya konu olan deyim ve atasözleri Türklerin bulundukları bölgelere göre de çalışma konusu olmuştur. Bunlardan birisi de Türkmen Türkçesinde yer alan deyimlerdir. Türkmenistanlı yazar Ecegız Çarıyeva’nın Söz Aslına Yet Yagşı adlı çalışması da birtakım atasözlerine yer verilmesinin yanısıra esasen deyimler konusunda dikkate değer çalışmalardan biridir. Çalışmanın girişi olarak takdim edilen makalede farklı örneklerden yola çıkılarak Türklerin asıllarının bir olduğu ve zengin dil yapısına sahip olduğu vurgusu yapılmaktadır. Eserin ana temasını ise, bugün Türkmenistan’da yaşayan Türkmenlerin dillerinde dolaşan ve birkısmı da kaybolmaya yüz tutmuş deyimler oluşturmaktadır. Yazar, uzun yıllarını vererek toplamış olduğu söz konusu deyimlerin önce kelime anlamlarını,  sonra da deyimleşmiş anlamlarını izah etmektedir.
