Gelir ve co2 emisyonu ilişkisi: Panel birim kök ve eşbütünleşme testi

Bu çalışmada, 1971-2007 döneminde OECD ülkeleri için kişi başına CO2 emisyonları ve reel kişi başına GSYİH panel verileriyle birim kök testleri, eşbütünleşme testleri ve uzun dönem katsayıları araştırılmıştır. Birim kök tahminleri için 1. nesil birim kök testleri, eşbütünleşme testleri için Pedroni, Kao ve Westerlund eşbütünleşme testleri ve uzun dönem katsayıların tahmini için DOLS tahmincisi kullanılmıştır. Ekonometrik uygulamaların sonucunda, gelir ile CO2 emisyonları arasında eşbütünleşme ilişkisi ve istatistiki olarak anlamlı doğrusal uzun dönem katsayılarına ulaşılmıştır. Bu sonuçla, gelir artışı kirlilik düzeyini artırmaktadır ve EKC hipotezinin aksine belirli gelir düzeylerinden sonra da gelir artışı kirlilik düzeyini artırmaya devam etmektedir.

Income and co2 emissions: Panel unit root and cointegration tests

In this paper, relationship between per capita CO2 emissions and per capita Gross Domestic Products of OECD countries are examined as the subject matter by using panel data, unit root tests, co-integration tests and long term parameters. Unit root estimations have been attained by using the first generation unit root tests. Within the scope of this study, Pedroni, Kao and Westerlund co integration tests are analyzed as co-integration test; and DOLS estimator to estimate long term parameters. As a result of econometric studies, a co-integration relationship between income and CO2 emissions and statistically significant long term parameters have been achieved.
