İLKOKUL 4.SINIF ÖĞRENCİLERİNE CÜMLENİN ÖGELERİNİN ÖĞRETİMİNDE İŞBİRLİKLİ ÖĞRENME TEKNİKLERİNDEN TAKIM OYUN TURNUVANIN AKADEMİK BAŞARIYA ETKİSİ

Çalışmanın amacı işbirlikli öğrenme tekniklerinden Takım Oyun Turnuva (TOT) tekniğinin ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin cümlenin ögelerini öğrenme alanındaki akademik başarılarına etkilerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırma öntest - sontest kontrol gruplu deneysel desen modelinde tasarlanmış, 4 hafta boyunca deney gruplarında TOT tekniğiyle kontrol grubunda ise Mevcut Programdaki Öğretim Yöntemi (MPÖY) ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın evrenini 2013-2014 eğitimöğretim yılında Erzurum ili Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğüne bağlı ilköğretim okullarının 4.sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini uygun örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenen bir ilköğretim okulunun 2 şubesinde öğrenim gören 42 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Madde analizleri sonucunda Cronbach Alpha (?)>0,714 bulunmuş olan ve ?>0,70 olduğu belirlenen cümlenin ögelerine ilişkin başarı testi veri toplama aracı olarak öntest ve sontest olarak kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada toplanan veriler, verilerin özelliklerine uygun istatistiksel analiz teknikleri kullanılarak bilgisayar ortamında SPSS 18.0 kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. THE EFFECT OF TEAM PLAY TOURNEMENT, WHICH IS ONE OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING TECHNIQUES WHILE TEACHING ELEMENTS OF SENTENCES TO 4TH GRADE STUDENTS IN PRIMARY EDUCATION, TO ACADEMIC SUCCESS

It has been the basic question of various researches how the studies in which Team Game Tournament technique is applied affect the successes of the students. It is a fact that; students’ learning in a social environment by providing an efficient attendance in compliance with their own learning rate affects the academic success. However, it should be also researched whether this technique can be used for the teaching of different issues or not. In this survey, impact of Team Game Tournament technique on the teaching of the elements of a sentence, which is a grammar issue in primary education 4th class Turkish lesson, was examined. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to examine the impact of Team Game Tournament technique on the academic success duringthe training of sentence elements for primary school 4th class students. In this research; preliminary test control grouped pattern, one of the experimental models, was used.“ Experimental research is the one in which most absolute results are obtained among the scientific procedures. In this study, absolute data was aimed to be reached for the interpretation of the results of the researchby usingan experimental model in the basis of quantitative research approach. Sample is hereby comprised of 42 students of 4-A and 4- Bclasses ofMehmet AkifErsoy Primary School within Pasinler District. In this survey, appropriate situation sampling was used for the selection of sample. “Appropriate Situation Sampling: This sampling type is relevant with the easiness of the inclusion of the individual or groups which shall be examined into the research process orrelevantwith their easy access..” (Ekiz, 2009: 106). In the research, as a means of data collection, “Elements of the sentence Success Test (CÖBT)”were used.This success test developed by researchers involves the grammar learning area gains included in Ministry of National Education 4th class Turkish program.For the purpose of measuring the acquisitions, 32 multiple- choice items were established at the first stage. While these items were being formed, Ministry of National Education’s teacher guide, student course and study books wereutilized. These items were revised by 2 academicians of Turkish training, 2 Turkish teacher and 5 class teachers. Amendments were made on 10 items in line with the experts’ opinions. Besides, 12 item were removed for providing the compliance with the level of students.4 The success test was decided to involve 20 items with 4 choices finally and a pilot application was made over a group which consists of 100 students. In this application, answers of 99 students were taken into consideration. A test result of a student was not assessed.The number of items was reduced to 16 due to the item analyzes. As a result of these item analyzes, Cronbach Alpha (α) was found to be >0,714, and according to the result; α>0,70 it was decided that the success test is applicable . Data collected in the research were analyzed by usingSPSS - 18.0 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) packet programs in computer environment based on appropriate statistical analysis techniques in compliance with the datafeatures.
