Ramazanda oruç tutan bireylerde görülen bazı davranış değişiklikleri, beslenme alışkanlıkları ve enerji dengesi
Beş ayrı il merkezinden rastgele seçilen, Ramazan ayında oruç tutan toplam 750 (320 erkek, 430 kadın) yetişkin bireyin genel özellikleri, birbirini izleyen üç gün süresince besin tüketim durumu, fiziksel aktivite türü ve süresi soruşturma yöntemi ile anket formuna kaydedilmiştir. Sağlık sorunu olan toplam 187 bireyin %60.4'ünün ilaç kullandığı, %31.6'sının diyet uyguladığı, ancak Ramazan süresince bu bireylerin %9.7'sinin ilaç almayı, %18.8'inin ise diyet uygulamayı aksattığı öğrenilmiştir. Uzun süre açlık nedeniyle bireylerin %34.3'ünde yorgunluk, çalışmama isteği vb bazı davranış değişikliklerinin olduğu belirlenmiştir. Sahurdaki yemek örüntüsünün daha çok kahvaltılık besinlerden oluştuğu, iftardaki besinlerin ise çeşitlilik gösterdiği bulunmuştur. En yetersiz alınan besin öğesi kalsiyumdur. Günlük alınan ortalama enerjinin, hem kadınlarda hem de erkeklerde harcanandan az olduğu bulunmuştur.
Some behavioral changes observed among fasting subjects, their nutritional habbits and energy balance in Ramadan
This study was conducted in five provinces and food consumption, physical activity types and duration for three consequtive days were recorded in the questionnaire together with some general characteristics of 750 (320 males, 430 females) adults who fast during Ramadan at time of interview. One hundred and eighty seven subjects had some types of health problems, among whom 60.4% were using drugs, 31.6% were on diet, however, during Ramadan 9.7% and 18.8% of the subjects had dropped taking drugs and did not regularly keep on diets, respectively. Since the fasting time, from dawn to sunset, 34.3% of the subjects developed some behavioral disturbances, such as feeling tired and unwilling to work etc. Although the meal consumed at dawn consisted of foods that were usually eaten at breakfast, the meal consumed at sunset had consisted of a great variety of foods. Calcium intake was the most insufficient consumed nutrient. It was observed that the daily energy intakes were less than the expenditures both for males and females.
