Ergenlerde alkol içme prevalansı ve olası risk faktörleri: Okul tabanlı, kitlesel bir çalışma

Kesitsel tipte planlanan ve 2002 yılında Mersin’de yapılan bu çalışma ile ilköğretim ikinci kısım ve lisede okuyan öğrencilerde alkol içme prevelansı ve etkileyen risk faktörlerinin araştırılması amaçlandı. Çalışmaya 2252’si (%54.4) erkek ve yaş ortalaması 14.51.9 yıl olan toplam 4143 öğrenci katıldı. Öğrencilerin %24.5’inin hayatı boyunca en az bir kez alkol içtiği saptandı. Altıncı sınıfta %8.4 olan bu oranının, 10’uncu sınıfta %46.1’e çıktığı ve bu eğilimin istatistiksel olarak da anlamlı olduğu belirlendi. Sınıf derecesinin artması, sigara veya illegal bir madde denemek, anne veya babanın alkol içmesi, erkek olmak ve evde ceza verilmesinin alkolü denemeyi etkileyen başlıca risk faktörleri olduğu saptandı. Bu sonuçlar göz önüne alınarak adölesanların alkolden uzak tutulması için aile ve okul içindeki ilişkilerin olumlu şekilde geliştirilmesi ve konu ile ilgili sağlık eğitimine ağırlık verilmesi gerekmektedir.
