ERKEN DEMİR ÇAĞI’NDAN ARKAİK ÇAĞ’A KITA YUNANİSTAN’DA KONUT TİPLERİ

Kıta Yunanistan'da Erken Demir Çağı'ndan Arkaik Dönem'e kadar geçen süreç içerisinde karşımıza farklı biçimsel özellikler gösteren ancak benzerlikleri de olan konut tipleri çıkmaktadır. Bu konut tiplerinin belirlendiği antik yerleşimler bugün kalıntılarına ulaştığımız ölçüde bize dönemin konut mimarisi hakkında bir takım veriler sunmaktadır. Bu anlamda Erken Demir Çağa bakıldığında karşımıza daha çok köy yerleşimlerinin çıktığını söylemek çok da yanlış olmayacaktır. Antik yazarların eserlerine de konu olmuş bu köy tipi yerleşimler ve bunların değişimleri hakkında antik metinlerde çeşitli bilgiler bizlere aktarılmıştır. Homeros Çağı'ndan çok sonraları yaşamış olmasına karşın Strabon Homeros Çağı yerleşimlerinden köy olarak bahsetmektedir: "Homeros zamanında Elis kenti daha kurulmamıştı, halk köylerde yaşıyordu. Bu kentin çeşitli küçük yerleşimlerin birleşmesiyle oluşarak ortaya çıkması Pers savaşlarından sonradır... Aynı şey Peloponnessos'daki hemen tüm yerleşmeler için geçerlidir. Bunlar kent değil, yöresel kasaba kümeleri idi. Kentler, daha sonraları bunların bağrından doğdu1,". Bu bağlamda Kıta Yunanistan Erken Demir Çağı'ndan Arkaik Çağa kadar geçen sürece ait konut modelleri ile ilgili örnekler verilmekte ve Batı Anadolu örnekleri ile de karşılaştırılarak ev yapılarının mekân tasarımlarına değinilmektedir

The Dwelling Types in Mainland Greece From Early Iron Age to Archaic Period (B.C. 1100-550)

In Mainland Greece, during the period from Early Iron Age to Archaic Period, various type of dwellings, which have the different or the similar structural features are confronted. The ancient settlements in which these various types of dwelling structures were unearthed by archaeological excavations provide important evidence about the residential architecture in their own period. In this sense it is true to say that in Early Iron Age, mostly small rural residents are found. These small rural settlements and their physical and social changes are also reported in ancient literatures. Strabo, despite he lived long after the Homeric Age, describes these rural settlements in Homeric Age as “villages”: “In Homer’s time, the City of Elis had not been founded yet; people were living in villages. Emerge of that city by joining of several small settlements happened after the Persian Wars. The same situation is true for nearly all settlements in Peloponnese. They were not cities, but local group of small towns. Afterwards the cities emerged from the hearth of them.” Therefore the dwelling models belonging to the period from Early Iron Age to Archaic Period in Mainland Greece are exemplified and the designs of the residential layout are dealt by comparing them with dwelling models from Western Anatolia
