The Persian Approach Specific To The Battle Of Cyzicus

Plato tried to describe the relationship of humanbeing with these a through his statement “We, as humanbeings, are counted to be amphibianin a sense because we belong to the soil not more than to the sea”. However, his thesis can not include the whole mankind. Because the pecularities of the geographical areas left hardly expugnable marks over the communities which lived in the area and influenced their lives deeply. Although the Persians who constitute done of the most important forces of the Ancient History dominated a large area of the Eastern Mediterranean, they could not elude the impacts of the geography from which they originated and could not become sea faring people. According to Xenophon, the statements related to the Persian fleet that Pharnabozus, the Satrap of Daskyleion, expressed after the Battle of Cyzicus are of great importance in the sense that they display the Persian approach about these a and the sea-power concept
