Şubat 1996-Ocak 1997 süresince Gülbahçe Körfezi'nden toplanmış kırlangıç balığının (L. cavillone Lacepede, 1801) 145 mide örneğinin beslenme spektnım analizi, dipte aktif bir predator olarak beslendiğim göstermiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre Crustacea'ler temel besinidir. Bu türün besin alışkanlıkları yıl boyunca oldukça benzerdir. Mysidler, bulunma sıklığı ile en önemli besin kaynağım oluşturur. Amphipodlar ikinci önemli besin grubunu oluştururken, dekapodlar üçüncü sırada yer alırlar.

Feeding habits of the large-scaled gurnard (Lepidotrigla cavillone Lacepede, 1801) in Gülbahçe Bay (Aegean Sea). The feeding spectrum analysis of 145 stomachs of the large-scaled gurnard, L. cavillone, collected from February 1996 to January 1997 in Gülbahçe Bay suggested that it feeds as an active predator just above the bottom. The results obtained show that Crustaceans are their basic food. The food habits of this species were rather similar during a year. Mysids constitued the most, important food resource with frequency of occurrence. Amphipods were the second most important food group, while decapods were the third most numerous.
