IN VITRO EVALUATION OF QUERCETIN-LOADED CHITOSAN NANOPARTICLES

In this study, chitosan nanoparticles were prepared with natural, polyphenolic compound, quercetin, characterized in vitro and release study was also performed at 37ºC using pH 7.4 phosphate buffer for 24 h. Antioxidant activity was measured from samples taken at specified time periods throughout release study. When all results were evaluated together, quercetin could load the carrier system successfully and it was concluded that the prolonged antioxidant activity was could be sustained for 24 hours.
