Gebelerde hepatit B virüs (HBV) taşıyıcılığını saptamak amacıyla 105 gebe HBsAg, anti HBc IgG ve anti HBs yönünden değerlendirildi. Toplam 6 gebe (% 5.8) HBsAg pozitif olarak saptandı. Tüm bebeklere doğumda hepatit B aşısı ve hiperimmunglobulin uygulandı. Altıncı aydaki kontrollerinde tüm bebeklerde anti HBs pozitif olarak saptandı. Bu sonuç gebelerde HBsAg araştırılmasının ve bebeklerinin immünizasyonunun önemini bir kez daha ortaya koymaktadır

In order to determine the HBsAg carrier pregnant women, 105 pregnants were screened for HBsAg, anti HBc IgG and anti HBs. Six of them (5.8 %) were HBsAg positive. All babies received hepatitis B vaccine and hepatitis B immunglobuline shortly after birth. On the 6th month all babies were anti HBs positive. We concluded that routine HBsAg screening should be done in all pregnant women for prevention of newborn HBV infection.
