A Rare Clinical Entity: Retroperitoneal Abscess In An Extremely Low Birth Weight Premature Infant
Retroperitoneal abse yenidoğan döneminde çok nadir görülen bir klinik durumdur. Tanı konulmasındaki güçlük vekötü klinik seyri nedeniyle hayatı tehdit eder. Bu yazıda hayatının 28. gününde retroperitoneal abse saptanan ve başarılı bir şekilde tedavi edilen çok düşük doğum ağırlıklı bir prematüre bebekten bahsedeceğiz. Bu yazıda retroperitone- al absenin erken tanısına ve tedavisine de dikkati çekmek istedik.

Retroperitoneal abscess, is a very uncommon clinical condition in the newborn period. It is a life threatening condition because of diagnostic difficulty and its presentations may be dramatic. We here report a case of an extremelylow-birth-weight premature infant who demonstrated a retroperitoneal abscess at 28th day of her life and successfullytreated with antibiotic therapy. We would like to draw your attention to the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of retroperitoneal abscess.
