Nesneler Teorisine Giriş-1

Stoacılar en genel cins olarak 'bir şey' kavramını kabul etmişlerdir. 'Bir şey' kavramının kapsamına cisimli ve cisimsiz olan her şeyi ve bunların yanı sıra ne cisimli ne de cisimsiz olan şeyleri almışlardır. Bu sınıflamaları 'varlık' ile 'varoluş' arasında yaptıkları ayrım üzerinde temellendirmişler ve bunun sonucu olarak da 'nesneyi karşılayan bir sözcüğe sahip olmamalarına rağmen, gelişmiş bir 'nesne' tasarımına sahip olduklarını göstermişlerdir.

An Introduction to the Theory of Objects

Stoics considered 'something' as the highest and most general genus. 'Something' contains all corporeal and incorporeal things and in addition to them all fictional entities that are neither corporeal nor incorporeal. Stoics founded these classifications on their distinction of 'being' and 'existence' and consequently despite having a term corresponding to the notion of 'object', they had shown that they had a perfect representation of 'object'.
