HERAKLEITOS

HERACLITUS

The article whose translation is given here exhibits a general picture of Heraclitus’ thoughts who is long accepted as one of the most important thinkers in Ancient Greek world, especially among Pre-Socratics. With interpreting Heraclitus’ remained fragments, Edward Hussey aims to present Heraclitus’ views on topics –such as universe, human, nature, religion, soul, unity etc.– which still have been being thought over in history of philosophy all along. By aiming so, Hussey tries to show Heraclitus’ thoughts wholly in a unity and in a well-coordinated way. This article is also important for it serves as an example of how different Heraclitus’ words are being read and interpreted; and how different notion of Heraclitus is emerged in minds of modern thinkers
