Atomculuğun izini takip eden Epikouros’un, atom hareketlerine sapma(παρέγκλισις/clinamen/declinatio) denilen üçüncü bir hareket ekleyerek insanınözgür iradesine yer açmaya çalıştığı ve sapma ile özgür irade arasında doğru-dan bir bağlantı kurduğu (özellikle Lucretius’un De Rerum Natura’sı üzerinden)iddia edilir. Bu makalede Lucretius’un kullandığı libera voluntas kavramıyla,Epikouros’un eserlerinde geçen πάρ ̓ ἡμάς kavramları incelenerek, filozofun an-ti-determinist bir tavır mı sergilediği yoksa yalnızca fatalizme mi karşı geldiğiayrıntılı olarak incelenecektir.
It is claimed (especially through the De Rerum Natura of Lucretius) that Epicurus who follows atomism makes room for human’s free will by adding a third motion called deviaton to atomic motion and correlates directly between deviation and free will. In this article by being analyised the concepts libera voluntas which Lucretius uses and πάρ ̓ ἡμάς which is mentioned in Epicurus’ works are analysed and whether Epicurus is anti-determinist or anti-fatalist is examined in detail.
