GEÇMİŞE UZANAN BİR YOL HİKAYESİ LUCY FRICKE’NİN TÖCHTER ROMANINDA KIZLAR VE ‘GÖLGE’ BABALARI

Lucy Fricke’nin Töchter adlı romanı, iki kadın figürün babaları ve geçmişleriyle hesaplaşmak için çıktıkları yolculuğu anlatmaktadır. Biri yıllar sonra ortaya çıkan babasının son arzusunu yerine getirmeye, diğeri çocukluğunda annesini terk eden ve baba olarak gördüğü adamın izini sürmeye çalışan iki kadının sembolik yol hikayesidir bu. İki kadın yolculuk ilerledikçe, geçmişlerinde babasız büyümenin hayatlarına verdiği zararla bir kez daha yüzleşirler. Yazar bu yolculukta pek çok maceralı, tehlikeli, gizemli olayı sahnelerken romanını sinemada bir film türü olan Road Movie’nin (yol filmi) edebiyattaki yansıması olan Road Novel (yol romanı) türünde yazmıştır. Yıllar sonra hayatlarına tekrar geri giren baba figürleri karşısında bu cesur kadınların nasıl tepki vereceği yazarın üslubu sayesinde okuru heyecanlı bir bekleyişe bırakmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı babasız büyüyen kadınları temsilen Martha ve Betty bağlamında öncelikle Fricke’nin bu sorunsalı irdelerken hangi karakteristik özelliklere sahip dişil figürler kurguladığını ve babasızlığın bu figürlere etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Sonrasında ise babasızlık kavramını Almanya’nın tarihsel ve sosyokültürel gerçekliğinde ele alarak toplumsal dönem ve yapının arka plan bilgisini aktarmak ve çalışmanın son bölümünde yazarın başarısında önemli bir role sahip olan farklı üslubuna dikkat çekmektir

A Road Story to the Past Daughters and their ‘Shadow’ Fathers in Lucy Fricke's Novel Töchter

Lucy Fricke's novel Töchter describes the journey of two female figures to come to terms with their father and past. This is the symbolic road story of two women, one of them trying to fulfil her father's last wish that emerged years later, and the other trying to trace the man she regarded as father and abandoned her mother in her childhood. As the journey unfolds, the two women face once again the damage to their lives from growing up fatherless in their past. While the author staged many adventurous, dangerous and mysterious events in this journey, he wrote his novel in the Road Novel genre, which is the reflection of Road Movie, which is a film genre in cinema. How these brave women will react to the father figures who come back into their lives after years leave the reader in an exciting wait thanks to the author's style. The aim of this study is to reveal what characteristic feminine figures Fricke has constructed while examining this problematic in the context of Martha and Betty representing women who grow up without a father and the effect of fatherlessness on these figures. This study also aims to convey the background information of the social period and structure by addressing the concept of fatherlessness in the historical and sociocultural reality of Germany and to draw attention to the different style that has an important role in the success of the author in the last part of the study.
