Interrelationships between age of sexual maturity, body weight and egg production in the Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix Japonica)

Bu araştırmada, Japon bıldırcınlarının eşeysel olgunluk yaşı ve bu dönemdeki canlı ağırlıkları ile yıllık yumurta verimleri arasındaki ilişkilerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. İncelenen Japon bıldırcınlarının eşeysel olgunluk yaşı 45.9 gün ve bu dönemdeki canlı ağırlıkları 203.3 g düzeyinde bulunmuştur. Canlı ağırlığa göre ilk yumurtlama yaşı incelendiğinde 220 g'ın üzerindeki bıldırcınların daha geç eşeysel olgunluğa ulaştıkları, bununla beraber eşeysel olgunluk yaşı yükseldikçe doğal olarak canlı ağırlıkta da bir artış görülmüş ve bu iki özellik arasında 0.182 (P

The aim of this study was to identify the relationship between the age of sexual maturity, the body weight at that time, and the annual egg production in Japanese quail. It was found that the average age at sexual maturity of the examined Japanese quail was 45.9 d and their body weight at that time was 203.3 g. When the age at first egg according to the body weight was investigated, it was found that the quail that was over 220 g reached the age of sexual maturity significantly later. Additionally, as the age of sexual maturity increased naturally, an increase was also seen in the body weight and a phenotypic correlation of 0.182 (P
