J. Dobretsberger Almanya’da Hitler Rejimini protesto edip Türkiye’ye sığınan bilim adamlarından biridir. W. Röpke’nin 1937’de ayrılmasından sonra İ.Ü. İktisat Fakültesi’nde 1941’e değin dersler verdi. Bu makale, resmi belgelerin aydınlığında onun Türkiye yıllarını tahlil etmek ve göçmen Alman İktisatçıların ihmal edilmiş cephesine ışık tutmayı amaçlamaktadır.

J. Dobretsberger was one of the immigrant German scholars who left his country protesting tih Hitler’s regime and found a shelter in Turkey. After W. Röpke’s leave in 1937, Dobretsberger took up lectures in the Faculty of Economics, The University of Istanbul between the years of 1937-1941. This article examines his Turkey years in the light of official documents. It is thence aimed at to shed light one of the neglected aspects of the immigrant German economists.
