Pediatri Hemşireliğinde Tamamlayıcı Sağlık Yaklaşımlarının Önemi

Çocuklarda tamamlayıcı sağlık yaklaşımları oldukça sık uygulanmaktadır. Çocuklar da tamamlayıcı sağlık yaklaşımlarının kullanımı hızlı artmasına rağmen, bu yöntemlere yönelik bilimsel kanıt temelli çalışmalar yeterli düzeyde değildir. Tamamlayıcı sağlık yaklaşımlarının olumlu ve olumsuz etkilerine yönelik bilimsel kanıtlar yeterli olmadığı için bu yöntemlerin özellikle çocuklarda kullanılması oldukça zararlı olabilmektedir. Bu yöntemlerin olumlu ve olumsuz etkileri hakkında pediatri hemşirelerinin hem çocukları hem de onların ebeveynlerini bilgilendirmeleri son derece önemlidir. Bu nedenle, pediatri hemşirelerine bu yöntemler ile ilgili kursların, hizmet içi eğitim programlarının düzenlenmesi, kliniklerde tamamlayıcı sağlık yaklaşımlarının yer aldığı veri toplama formlarının oluşturulması ve kanıta dayalı araştırmalara daha fazla ağırlık verilmesi önerilmektedir. Bu makalenin amacı, çocuklarda tamamlayıcı sağlık yaklaşımlarının kullanımını, bu yöntemlerin kullanım nedenlerini, çocuklardaki etkilerini ve hemşirelik yaklaşımlarını değerlendirmektir.

The Importance of Complementary Health Approaches in Pediatric Nursing

Complementary health approaches are substantially applied frequently in children. Despite the rapid increase in the use of complementary health approaches in children, scientiŞ c evidence-based studies of these methods are inadequate. Since scientiŞ c evidence for the positive and negative effects of complementary health approaches is not sufŞ cient, the use of these methods, especially in children, can be quite detrimental. It is extremely important for pediatric nurses to inform both the children and their parents about the positive and negative effects of these methods. Therefore, it is recommended for pediatrics nurses to organize courses and in-service training programs regarding these methods, create data collection forms involving complementary health approaches in clinics, and concentrate more on the evidence-based research. The aim of this article was to evaluate the use of complementary health approaches in children, the reasons for use of these methods, the effects on children and nursing approaches.
