Hemsire Yardımcılıgı Programında Ögrenim Gören Ögrencilerin; Hemsire Yardımcısının Görev ve Sorumlulukları Hakkındaki Görüsleri

Amaç: Hemsire yardımcılıgı programında ögrenim gören ögrencilerin,hemsire yardımcılarının görev ve sorumluluklarına iliskin görüslerinisaptamaktır.Yöntem: Arastırma tanımlayıcı tasarımda Istanbul ilinde egitim verenbir kamu ve bir özel saglık meslek lisesinin hemsire yardımcılıgı programındaögrenim gören birinci sını ardan örneklem seçimine gidilmedenulasılabilen toplam 226 ögrenci ile gerçeklestirildi. Arastırmanınverileri, ögrencilerin kisisel ve meslek seçimine yönelik bilgileri vehemsire yardımcılarının is tanımlarını içeren bir form ile toplandı.Bulgular: Katılımcıların büyük çogunlugunun (%84.5) hemsire yardımcılıgınıisteyerek seçtigi, buna ragmen yalnızca yarısının (%50)mezun olduktan sonra hemsire yardımcısı olarak çalısmayı düsündügübelirlendi. Ögrenciler, hemsire yardımcılıgına ait görev ve sorumluluklarınailiskin görüsleri konusunda hastanın tedavi planında yeralan ve hemsirenin uygun gördügü oral ilaçları hastaya verir (%37.6),ilgilendigi hastaların genel durumunda fark ettigi degisiklikleri hemsireyebildirir (%36.7), hemsirenin uygun gördügü durumlarda hastanınyürümesine ve hareket etmesine yardım eder (%32.3), maddelerinekesinlikle katıldıklarını belirttiler. Ögrencilerin “Kesinlikle Katılmıyorum”yanıtını verdikleri maddeler ise hastanın idrar torbasını bosaltırveya degistirir (%46.9), ölüm sonrası yapılması gereken bakımları uygular(%42.9), hastanın yatagını yapar (%42.5) olarak saptandı. Sonuç: Hemsire yardımcılıgı programında okuyan ögrencilerin bumeslegi isteyerek seçmelerine ragmen, hemsire yardımcılıgına iliskinbazı görev ve sorumluluklarını yeterli benimsemedikleri görülmektedir.

The Opinions of Students in an Assistant Nurse Program about Duties and Responsibilities

Aim: To learn the opinions of students in an assistant nurse program about the duties and responsibilities of assistant nurses. Methods: This descriptive study comprised 226 students who were chosen from rst-year students studying in the nursing program of one public and one private vocational high school without doing a sample selection. The research data were collected on a form that included personal and vocational information of the students and a job description of assistant nurses. Results: It was found that most of the participants (84.5%) chose to be an assistant nurse deliberately; however, only half of them (50%) thought to work as an assistant nurse after graduation. The students stated that they were absolutely involved in performing the following duties and responsibilities of an assistant nurse: students give the patients oral medication included in the treatment plan of the patient when the nurse approves it (37.6%), students notify the nurse of any changes the patient is concerned about or aware of in general (36.7%), and students help the patient move and walk when the nurse approves it (32.3%). The items that the students did not agree with were found to be emptying or changing the patient's urine bag (46.9%), administering any care after a patient’s death (42.9%), and making the patient's bed (42.5%). Conclusion: Although the students studying in an assistant nurse program had chosen this job deliberately, it seems they did not ful ll some assistant nurse duties and responsibilities well enough.
