Nefs kavramı Mevlânâ’nın sıkça kullandığı bir kavramdır. Mevlânâ’ya göre nefs, insana daim kötülüğü emreden bir iç düşmandır. Bundan dolayı da insan nefsine karşı amansız bir savaşım vermelidir. Biz bu çalışmamızda Mevlânâ’nın, nefsin mahiyeti, insan-nefs ilişkisi, nefsle mücadele etmenin gerekliliği, bu mücadelenin keyfiyeti ve sonuçları gibi konulara ilişkin görüşlerini incelemeye çalıştık.

Mevlana applies to the notion of nafs (ego) very often. Mevlana interpreted the notion of nafs within the borders of classical tasawwuf of Islam. According to him, nafs is an inner enemy that always orders mankind evil. That is why one should struggle inexorably against it. In this article we attempted to analyze his views on the nature of nafs, the relationship between human and nafs, the necessity to struggle against nafs, ways to accomplish this struggle and its results.
