Yeni Zelanda tavşanı (oryctolagus cuniculus L.)'nda cinsiyet faktörünün mandibula morfometrisine etkisi

Bu çal ı ş man ı n amacı Yeni Zelanda tavş an ı mandibulas ı n ı cinsiyet faktörü üzerinden morfometrikolarak analiz etmektir. Ara ş tı rmada 20 adet (10 di ş i ve 10 erkek) Yeni Zelanda tavş an ı mandibulas ıkullan ı ld ı . Tavş anları n her bir mandibulas ı ndan toplam 10 adet ölçü al ı nd ı . Çal ı ş madamandibulan ı n ortalama uzunluk de ğ erinin (infradentale ile gonion caudale aras ı ndaki uzunluk)erkeklerde 66.62 mm iken di ş ilerde 66.15 mm oldu ğ u belirlendi. Ortalama yükseklik de ğ erinin(gonion ventrale ile processus condylarenin en uç noktas ı aras ı uzunluk) ise erkeklerde 44.87 mm,di ş ilerde 44.82 mm olarak saptand ı . Ayrı ca ölçümlerin tamam ı n ı n erkeklerde daha yüksekolmas ı na ra ğ men, cinsiyetler aras ı farkı n istatistiksel açı dan önemli olmad ı ğ ı tespit edildi (P>0.05).Çal ı ş mada yap ı lan korelasyon analizinde erkeklerde gonion ventrale ile processus condylarenin enuç noktas ı aras ı ndaki uzunlu ğ un, molar di ş ler aras ı uzunluk ile aras ı nda negatif kuvvetlikorelasyonun oldu ğ u saptan ı rken, di ş ilerin ayn ı ölçüleri aras ı nda pozitif kuvvetli ve istatistikselolarak önemli bir korelasyonun varl ı ğ ı belirlendi. Sonuç olarak mandibulan ı n morfometrikanalizinde cinsiyetler aras ı farkl ı l ı ğ ı n istatistiksel önem içermemesi, Yeni Zelanda tav ş an ı n ı ncinsiyet ayrı m ı nda mandibula morfometrisinin belirleyici sonuçlar ortaya koyamayaca ğ ı kanaatinevarı lm ı ş tı r.

The effect of gender factor on the mandible morphometry in the New Zealand rabbit

In this study, it was aimed to conduct a morphometric analysis of the mandible of the New ZealandRabbit in terms of gender factor. In the study, the mandibles of the 20 animals (10 female and 10male) New Zealand Rabbit were used. 10 measurements were received from each mandible. In thestudy, when the average length value of the mandible (length between infradentale to gonioncaudale) was 66.62 mm in the males, it was determined that this measurement was 66.15 in thefemales. The average height value of the mandible (length between gonion ventrale to the endpoint of the processus condylare) was settled as 44.87 in the males, 44.82 mm in the females.Although all of the measurements were higher in the males, it was determined that the differenceamong the sexes was not statistically significant (P>0.05). In the study, a result of made correlationanalysis, when it was confirmed that there was strong negative correlation among the lengthbetween gonion ventrale to the end point of processus condylare with the length between the molarteeth in the male, it was determined that there was strong positive and statistically meaningfulcorrelation among the same measurements of the females. As a result, it has been concluded thatthe mandible morphometry would not present determinative outcomes in the sex distinction of theNew Zealand Rabbit, because the difference between the sexes was not significant in themorphometric analysis of the mandible.
