Nitrozomorfolin Uygulanmış Ratlarda Enginar (Cynara scolymus L.)’ın Lipid Peroksidasyon Düzeyleri ve Bazı Antioksidan Enzim Aktiviteleri Üzerine Etkisinin Araştırılması

Çalışmada, lipid peroksidasyonu ve antioksidan enzimlerin aktiviteleri değerlendirilerek, ratlarınkanında nitrozomorfolin (NMOR)’in oluşturabileceği toksisiteye karşı enginarın etkisini araştırmakamaçlanmıştır. Wistar-Albino erkek ratlar; kontrol grubu, enginar uygulanan grup (1.5 g/kg vücutağırlığı, gavaj yoluyla, 14 gün), NMOR uygulanan grup (10 mg/kg vücut ağırlığı, gavaj yoluyla, 14gün) ve NMOR+enginar uygulanan grup şeklinde dört gruba ayrılmıştır. NMOR ve enginaruygulamalarına aynı anda başlanmıştır. Deney periyodunun sonunda tüm ratlar sakrifiye edilmiş vekan örnekleri antikoagulant içeren tüplere alınmıştır. Çalışmada, enginarın NMOR kaynaklıtoksisitesi üzerindeki etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla malondialdehid (MDA), redükte glutatyon (GSH)düzeyleri, katalaz (KAT), glutatyon peroksidaz (GSH-Px) ve süperoksit dismutaz (SOD) aktiviteleriölçülmüştür. Investigation of the Effect of Artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.) on Lipid Peroxidation Levels and Some Antioxidant Enzyme Activities in Nitrosomorpholine Applied Rats

In this study, it was aimed to investigate the effects of artichoke against the toxicity in the blood of rat caused by nitrosomorpholine (NMOR) by evaluating lipid peroxidation and antioxidant enzymes. Male Wistar-Albino rats were divided into four groups as; control group, artichoke-treated group (1.5 g/kg/day body weight, by gavage for 14 days), NMOR-treated group (10 mg/kg/day body weight, by gavage for 14 days) and NMOR+artichoke-treated group. NMOR and artichoke applications were started at same time. At the end of the experiment, all animals were sacrificed and blood samples were removed into anticoagulant containing tubes. In this study, malondialdehyde (MDA), reduced glutathione (GSH) levels, catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities were measured to determine the effects of artichoke on NMOR-induced toxicity.
