Transketolase test results in healthy cattle with functional rumen
The aim of this study was to determine the results of transketolase test in cattle with functional rumen. Six months old and over, forty cattle from different breed and sex were used in the study. After the cattle were determined as healthy, according to the results of systematic clinical examination, blood samples were taken from jugular vein of all animals. Transketolase test was performed on these blood samples. An avarage value of thiamine pyrophosphate effect was determined as 15.8% in the cattle. The results of transketolase test determined in this study would be useful tool in further studies in which this test can be used.
