Fırat Üniversitesi Öğrencilerinin Hayvanlara Yönelik Empati Kapasitelerini Etkileyen Faktörler Üzerine Bir AraĢtırma

Empati eğiliminin insanların ahlakî davranışları üzerinde önemli bir rol oynadığı kabul edilmektedir. İnsanlara yönelik empatik tepkilerin aynı zamanda hayvanlara ve dolayısıyla diğer canlılara yönelik empatiyi de geliştirdiği, bu nedenle de yüksek düzeyde empati becerisine sahip insanların hayvanlarla da empati kurdukları düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, hayvana yönelik empati eğilimi ile insana yönelik empati eğilimi arasında ilişki olup olmadığının ve empati kurma kapasitesini etkileyen faktörlerin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla Fırat Üniversitesinde okuyan 388 öğrenciye gönüllülük esasına göre anket uygulanarak veri toplanmıştır. A Study on the Factors Affecting Fırat University Students’ Animal-oriented- empathy capacity

t is accepted that empathy plays a key role in people’s moral development. It has been proposed that empathy directed at humans will transfer to animals and other living beings So, it is believed that highly empathic individuals for humans are also highly emphatic for animals. The aim of this study was to evaluate and assess if there is a link between animal oriented empathy and human oriented empathy, and to investigate variables which may affect the human’s empathic attitudes towards animals.
