In vitro glukoz kataraktı oluşturulmuş tavşan lenslerinin protein çözünürlük özelliklerine taurin'in etkisi

Bu deneysel çalışmanın amacı, in vitro koşullarda oluşturulmuş glukoz kataraktlı tavşan lenslerinde taurinin, lens protein çözünürlük özellikleri üzerindeki etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaçla tavşan lensleri korteks ve nükleus bölgelerine ayrılarak; kontrol, katarakt ve taurin çalışma grupları şeklinde incelenmeye alınmışlardır. Lens örnekleri farklı ortamlardaki inkübasyonları takiben korteks ve nükleus proteinlerinin fraksiyonlarına ayrılması için bir seri santrifüjleme işlemine tabi tutulmuşlardır. Böylece lens proteinleri üç ayrı fraksiyona ayrılmıştır. Bu fraksiyonlar suda çözünen, ürede çözünen ve ürede çözünmeyen protein fraksiyonlarıdır. Çalışmadan elde ettiğimiz sonuçlara göre, antioksidan özelliğe sahip taurinin, lens proteinlerinin çözünürlük özelliklerini kataraktta koruduğu söylenebilir.

The effects of taurine on the protein solubility properties of in vitro glucose induced cataractous rabbit lenses

The aim of this experimental study is to investigate the effects of taurine on the properties of in vitro glucose induced cataractous rabbit lenses. Lens samples from the rabbits were divided into two parts as the cortex and the nucleus. These samples (nucleus and cortex) were studied under the headings of control, cataract and taurine study groups. Samples incubated in appropriate incubation media were cantrifujed, for protein fractionation. Lens proteins were classified as water-soluble, urea-soluble and urea-insoluble. According to our findings we postulate that antioxidant taurine may protect solubility properties of lens proteins against the effects of glucose induced cataract.
