Görme Engelli Öğrencilerin Denklem ve Eşitsizlik Kavramlarına İlişkin Düşüncelerinin İncelenmesi
Matematiksel kavramların öğrenilmesi ve cebirsel işlemlerin sürdürülmesi süreçlerinde temel kavramlar arasında denklem ve eşitsizlik yer almaktadır. Görme engelli öğrencilerin yetersizliklerinden dolayı denklem ve eşitsizlik kavramlarının öğrenme süreçlerinde erişilebilir uygulamalara yer verilmesi gerekmektedir. Bu uygulamaların tasarlanmasına katkı sunmak amacıyla bu araştırmada görme engelli öğrencilerin denklem ve eşitsizlik kavramlarına dair öğrenci düşüncelerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Durum çalışması deseninde tasarlanan araştırmanın ölçüt örnekleme metoduyla belirlenen katılımcıları görme engelli iki 10. sınıf öğrencisidir. Çeşitli dokunsal destek eğitim araçlarıyla zenginleştirilen yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşmelerle elde edilen veriler içerik analizi metoduyla analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular, öğrencilerin düşüncelerinde kritik noktaların; kavram tanımı, sembollerin kullanımı, denklem ve eşitsizlik ifadelerinin yazılması ve işlemlerin sürdürülmesi ve destek eğitim araçlarının seçimi olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Sonuçlar, alt kavramların ve sembollerin kavramsal anlamalarının yanı sıra söylemlerin ve sembolik dil kullanımın işlemsel anlama için önemli olduğunu işaret etmektedir. Problem senaryolarının görme engelli öğrencilerin günlük hayat tecrübelerine dayalı olması ve doğrusal ilişkiden farklı bağlamları kapsaması da öğrencilerin düşünme süreçlerine yansıyan öneriler olarak sunulmuştur.
