Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğrencilerin fen bilimleri alanına olan ilgisini araştırmaktır. Araştırmanın örneklemini PISA 2006 sınavına katılmış, 7 coğrafi bölgeden, 51 ilden, bölgelere ve okul türlerine göre rastgele seçilen toplam 160 okuldan, 15 yaş grubu 4942 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada PISA 2006 sınavında öğrencilere uygulanan öğrenci anketinden yararlanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada öğrencilerin fen bilimlerine karşı ilgisi ölçen bir soru seçilmiştir. Çalışmada MEB EARGED (Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı Eğitimi Araştırma ve Geliştirme Dairesi Başkanlığı) internet sitesinde bulunan “akademisyenler ve araştırmacılar için PISA 2006 veritabanı SPSS analizi” başlığı altında bulunan verilerden yararlanılarak verilerin SPSS 17 istatistik programında yüzde, frekans analizleri yapılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre öğrenciler fen bilimleri alanındaki konuları öğrenmekten, fen bilimleri ile ilgili yazıları okumaktan, fen bilimleri ile ilgili yeni bilgileri öğrenmekten mutlu olduğunu belirtmiştir.

This study has investigated students' interest in the science.4942 students who participated in (Programme for International Student Assessment) PISA 2006 exam, 7 geographic regions, 51 provinces, regions and types of school according to the total 160 school which were randomly selected and 15 years of age group students were chosen as sample of the study. This study was used PISA 2006 student questionnaire data. One question was selected for measuring the students' interest of science field in PISA 2006 student questionnaire. The data are Ministry of National Education-Education Research and Development Department website. This data were used in this study. The data were analyzed percentage and frequency by SPSS 17 statistical program. According to data analysis results, students said that they were happy to learn about science field subjects and reading articles about science field.
