Bu araştırma, Ankara'da erkek berberlerinin Hepatit-B konusunda bilgi ve tuturnlarını belirlemeye yönelik olarak Haziran 1996'da yapılmıştır. Ankara Berberler Odasına kayıtlı 1312 berber salonunda çalışan saç kesimi ve.sakal tıraşı yapan 519 berber araştırma kapsaınına alınmıştır. Araştırnı a kesitsel türde olup, veriler anketle toplanmıştır.Bireylerin %8.5'i sarılık hastalığı geçirdiğini ,%5.2'si en az bir kez hepatit-B aşısı yaptırdığını ifade etmişlerdir. Bireylerin hepatit-B konusundaki bilgi puanı ortalaması 34.6 ± 9.9 olarak hesaplanrnış, bunu bireylerin çalıştığı salonun sınıfı, öğrenim düzeyi, çıraklık eğitim merkezi öğreniminin etkilediği görülmüştür.

This research was made in June l996 in order to determine the knowledge and attitudes of barbers for males in Ankara concerning Hepatit-B.519 barbers,who work in 1312 barber shops registered to the Chamber of Barbers irı Ankar a and whose job is to cut hair and beard,were included within the scope of this research.The research is of sectional type, the data were collected through questionnaire. Eight point live percent of the individuals declared that they have had jaundice illness while 5,2 % stated that they have been applied the Hepatit-B inoculation for at least once. The mean knowledge point of the individuals is calculated to be 36.4± 9.9; and it is seerı that factors such as the type of the barber shop where the individual works, the individual's educational level, the education in the school of apprerıticeship training ,have affected this result.
