Lateks aglütinasyon testiyle serumda özgül anti-toksoplasma antikorlarının araştırılması

Bu çalışmada , serumda anti-toksoplasma antikorlarını araştırırken lateks aglütinasyon testinin yeterli duyarlılık ve özgüllükte olup olmadığını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bunun için referans test olan Sabin-Feldman Testi (SFT) kullanılmıştır. Daha önceden SFT ile pozitif bu l unan 38 ve negatif bulunan 12 hasta serumuna lateks aglütinasyon testi yapılmış ve sırasıyla bir negatif ve üç pozitif sonuç elde edilmiştir. SFT ile karşılaştırıldığında , Lateks aglütinasyon testinin duyarlılığı %97 ve özgüllüğü %75 bulunmuştur. Lateks aglütinasyon testi çabuk ve kolay uygulanabilir olması açısından tarama testi olarak kullanılabilecek bir testtir ama özellikle tokloplasmozun önemli olduğu kişilerde daha ileri tetkiklerin yapılmasına ihtiyaç vardır.

The investigation of specific anti-toxoplasma antibodies in human sera with latex agglutination test

This study was designed to decide if latex agglutination test is specific and sensitive enough to investigate anti-Toxoplasma antibodies in human sera. This test was applied to 38 and 12 sera which were found to be positive and negative with SFT, respectively. One from the former group was negative and three from the later were positive. The sensitivity and specificity of latex agglutination test when compared to SFT were found to be 97% and 75% , respectively.Latex agglutination test can be used as a screening test because it is easy and rapid to apply. However, for patients to whom toxoplasmosis has a vital importance , it needs to be confirmed by another quantitative test .
