Öğretmen Adaylarının Özgeci Davranışları ve Öğretmenlik Mesleğine Yönelik Tutumları Arasındaki İlişki

Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının özgeci davranışları ile öğretmenlik mesleğine ilişkin tutumları arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. İlişkisel tarama modelinin benimsendiği araştırmada veriler, Balıkesir Üniversitesi Necatibey Eğitim Fakültesinde 2019-2020 Bahar yarıyılında 3. ve 4. sınıflarda öğrenim gören 542 öğretmen adayından toplanmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Ümmet, Ekşi ve Otrar (2013) tarafından geliştirilen “Özgecilik Ölçeği”, Üstüner (2006) tarafından geliştirilen “Öğretmenlik Mesleğine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği” ve araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen “Kişisel Bilgiler Anketi” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde, t- testi, Mann Whitney U testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi, Kruskall Wallis testi, Pearson korelasyon analizi, çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizi ve yapısal eşitlik modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine ilişkin tutumlarının ve özgecilik düzeylerinin yüksek düzeye yakın olduğu görülmüştür. Elde edilen diğer sonuçlara göre, adayların özgecilik düzeyleri ile öğretmenlik mesleğine ilişkin tutumları arasında pozitif yönlü zayıf bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca öğretmen adaylarının özgecilik düzeyleri ve demografik değişkenler; öğretmenlik mesleğine ilişkin tutumları üzerinde zayıf bir etkiye sahiptir. Araştırma sonucunda söz konusu değişkenler arasındaki yüksek düzeyde ilişki, değişkenlerin doğası ve ilgili kuramsal yapı göz önüne alındığında beklenen bir sonuçtur. Bunun gerçekleşmeme nedeninin nitel araştırma yöntemleriyle irdelenebileceği düşünülmektedir.

The Relationship Between The Altruistic Behaviors And Attitudes Toward The Teaching Profession Of Pre- Service Teachers

This study aims to examine the relationship between pre-service teachers' altruistic behaviors and their attitudes toward the teaching profession. In this study, in which the relational screening model was adopted, the data were collected from 542 pre-service teachers studying in the 3rd and 4th grades in the 2019-2020 spring semester at Balıkesir University Necatibey Faculty of Education. The "Altitude Scale" developed by Ümmet, Ekşi and Otrar (2013), the "Attitude Scale towards the Teaching Profession" developed by Üstüner (2006) and the "Personal Information Questionnaire" developed by the researcher were used as data collection tools in this research. In the data analysis, the t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, one-way analysis of variance, Kruskal-Wallis test, Pearson correlation analysis, multiple linear regression analysis and structural equation modeling were used. The findings showed that the attitudes of the teacher candidates toward the teaching profession and their altruism levels were close to high. There was a weak positive relationship between the altruism levels of the candidates and their attitudes toward the teaching profession. In addition, pre-service teachers' altruism levels and demographic variables had a weak degree of influence on attitudes toward the teaching profession. A high level of relationship between the variables in question was an expected result when the nature of the variables and the related theoretical structure were considered. It was thought that the reason why this did not happen could be examined with qualitative research methods
