Hipnoz ve anestezi

Hipnoz, hipnotist tarafından verilen telkinlere cevabın diğer kişideki algılama, hafıza ve istemli hareketlerinde değişiklikleri kapsayan sosyal etkileşimdir. Günümüzde klinik hipnoz genel anesteziye alternatif değil tamamlayıcı olarak sporadik vakalarda kullanılmaktadır. Son zamanlarda anestezide bilinçli sedasyon öne çıkarak hipnoza olan ilgiyi artırmıştır. Görüntüleme ve elektrofizyolojik çalışmalar göstermiştir ki hipnoz etkisi altında spinal ve supraspinal ağrı yolaklarında değişiklik olmaktadır. Çünkü telkinler ve dikkatin yoğunlaşması, ağrı algılaması ve ağrı yolağını ölçülebilir bir şekilde değiştirmektedir. Hipnoza cevapta bireysel farklılıkları ölçmek için farklı metodlar vardır. Bu ölçümler hipnoz araştırmaları için subjelerin seçimlerinde ve evrelendirilmesinde iyi bir prediktör gibi görünmektedir. Yapılan çalışmaların verileri hipnozun hem kronik hem akut ağrıda, cerrahi işlemler sırasında tek başına veya diğer anesteziklerle kombine kullanımının yararlı olduğunu göstermiştir.

Hypnosis and anesthesia

Hypnosis is a social interaction that covers changes in perception, memory and voluntary behaviours of a person according to the inspiration of an hypnoist. Nowadays clinical hypnosis is not used as an alternative for general anaesthesia but complementary for sporadic cases. In these days conscious sedation has stood out resulting in an increased interest on hypnosis. Imaging and electrophysiologic studies have shown that there have been changes in spinal and supraspinal pain pathways under hypnosis effect since the condensation of inspiration and attention has changed pain perception and pain pathway in a measurable level. There are different methods to assess personal variety in response to hypnosis. These measurements seem as good predictors for choosing and grading the subjects for hypnosis researchers. Data coming out of the studies have shown that hypnosis is useful both for chronic and acute pain, and for surgical procedures either alone or combined with other anaesthetics.
