Adana ilinde Tagetes patula L.’da zararlı bir thrips türü: Neohydatothrips samayunkur (Kudô) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae)

Kadife çiçeği thripsi, Neohydatothrips samayunkur (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) Adana ilinde 2006- 2007 yıllarında örneklenen süs bitkilerinden sadece Tagetes patula L. (Compositeae) üzerinde bulunmuştur. Bu thrips türü bu çalışmayla ülkemizde ilk kez kaydedilmiştir. Bu tür toplam ergin thrips bireylerinin %90’ını oluşturmuştur. Bu thripsi Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) %10 oranıyla izlemiştir. Frankliniella intonsa (Trybom), Limothrips cerealium (Haliday) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) ve Haplothrips distinguendus Uzel (Thysanoptera: Phlaeothripidae) çok az sayılarda kaydedilmişlerdir. N. samayunkur T. patula üzerinde ekim-kasım periyodunda yüksek yoğunluklarda görülerek, bitki gelişmesini olumsuz yönde etkilemiştir. Örneklenen bitkilerde thrips türleriyle birlikte avcı böcek ve akarlar da toplanmıştır. Bunlardan Orius niger (Wolff) (Hemiptera: Anthocoridae) en yaygın görülen avcı böcek türü olup, toplam bireylerin yaklaşık %65’ini oluşturmuştur. Orius spp ve N. samayunkur populasyonları arasında önemli ve pozitif ilişki saptanmış olmasına karşın ($R^2$ = 0.95, P = 0.004), Orius türleri, diğer avcılarla birlikte, bu zararlı thrips türünün populasyonlarını azaltmada yetersiz kalmışlardır.

A Pestiferous thrips on Tagetes patula L. in Adana province, Turkey: Neohydatothrips samayunkur (Kudô) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae)

Marigold thrips, Neohydatothrips samayunkur (Kudô) was recorded for the first time in Turkey and it was found only on the Tagetes patula L. (Compositeae) among the sampled ornamental plants in Adana province, Turkey in 2006-2007. This thrips accounted for 90% of the total adult thrips individuals sampled, and it was followed by Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) with ratio 10%. The population densities of Frankliniella intonsa Trybom, Limothrips cerealium (Haliday) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) and Haplothrips distinguendus Uzel (Thysanoptera: Phlaeothripidae) on T. patula were very few throughout the samplings. The high number of N. samayunkur was found on T. patula in October-November, causing occurence of the serious damage. Predatory insects and mites associated with thrips on T. patula were also recorded. Orius niger (Wolff) (Hemiptera: Anthocoridae) were the most prevailing predatory insects constituting nearly 65% of the total adult predators sampled. Although there was a positive and significant relationship between the numbers of Orius spp. and N. samayunkur ($R^2$ = 0.95, P = 0.004), O. niger together with other predators were not capable to drop the numbers of N. samayunkur to low levels.
