Microstructure Analysis of Vehicle Emissions
Cultural interaction, economic growth and technological progress have been rapidly developed in the world. Although these developments increase the welfare level of human beings, they also lead to many problems. One of such problems is the air pollution induced by the motor vehicles in traffic. In this study, microstructure analysis of the exhaust gases through SEM instrument has been conducted to protect the living and the environment from the air pollution and its effects which is caused by vehicle exhaust gases. Basic pollutants in exhaust gases consist of carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, lead and compounds, aldehydes, soot and particles. The weight ratios of the main elements C, O, Al, Si, P, S, Cl, Ca, Ba, Cr, Fe, Zn and Pb in theseair-pollutant exhaust gases were determined. Furthermore, it has been experimentally determined that metals and heavy metals from vehicle emissions continue to pollute and threaten the environment.
