Müşteri Mahremiyeti ve Müşterilerin Mahremiyet İlgisini Ölçmeye Yönelik Bir Uygulama

İşletmeler müşterileriyle daha yakın ilişki geliştirebilmek için sürekli olarak onlar hakkında kişisel bilgi toplamaktadırlar, işletmeler tarafından müşteriler hakkında kişisel bilgilerin toplanması ve kullanılması müşteri mahremiyeti konusunu gündeme getirmiştir. Müşteriler hakkında bilgi toplanması ve kullanılmasıyla ilgili ve mahremiyet haklarının korunmasına ilişkin meselenin doğrudan ilgilileri müşteri, firma ve devlet olarak görülmektedir. Bu araştırmada, müşterilerin, firmaların kişisel bilgilerini topladıklarına dair bilgi sahibi olup olmadıkları ve mahremiyet konusuna ilgi düzeylerinin ne olduğu incelenmektedir. Bununla ilgili olarak yapılan uygulamada müşterilerin mağaza kartlarının özellikle rekabet avantajı ve mağaza sadakati için bir araç olarak kullanıldığı yönünde fikir sahibi olduklan görülmüştür. Buna ek olarak tüketicilerin, mahrem olarak niteledikleri bilgilerin kullanımına ilişkin olarak firmalar tarafından mutlaka bilgilendirilmeleri, izinlerinin alınması ve gerekli yasal düzenlemelerin devlet tarafından yapılması gerekliliği konusunda önemli bir duyarlılık sahibi olduklan da kanıtlanmıştır.

Customer Privacy and an Application on Measuring the Privacy Concerns of Customers

Businesses continuously collect personal information about their customers in order to develop closer relations with them. Collecting and using personal information about customers by businesses have made customer privacy a current topic. The direct concerned sides of collecting and using information about the customers and Protecting the privacy rights of those customers are customers themselves, firms and the government, in this study, it is examined that whether the customers know that their personal information have been collected by firms or not and the level of their interest towards the privacy issues is studied. Results indicate that the customers consider store cards as tools developing for competitive advantage and store loyalty spesifically. Additionally, we have found out that, customers are aware of; companies' liability to inform them about possible use of personal information, to get also their consent before using personal details. We also coclude that customers are demanding a legal framework for their rights from state by providing necessery legal regulations.
