Sliding hiatal hernia with intrathoracic stomach and colon together with gastric outlet syndrome
Hiatus hernia is usually attributed to conditions that cause a chronic increase in intra abdominal pressure such as multipl pregnancies and obesity. A massive hiatal hernia containing colon, intestine, and stomach is rare and sometimes feared due to the risk of incarceration and strangulation of any herniated organ. Benign pyloric stenosis and gastric outlet obstruction are most commonly caused by peptic ulcer disease. In this paper we described a patient who presented massive hiatal hernia with incarceration of the transverse colon, and thoracic herniated stomach and gastric outlet syndrome caused by peptic ulcer disease
