Kişinin “ben” duygusunun oluşumu, uzun bir süreçte gerçekleşir. İnsan, toplumsallaşırken diğer insanlarla iletişimde, etkileşimde bulunurken toplumsal değerleri de öğrenir ve bu değerlere göre tavır ve davranışlarını düzenler. Bu süreçte toplumsal yapıya da katkı sağlamaya başlar. Bu, geleneksel toplum yapısının bir özelliği ve gerekliliğidir. Hem bireyin hem de toplumun ihtiyacının kesiştiği bu nokta, toplumsal yaşamın devamı için bir gerekliliktir. Yaşanılan süreçte -tüm dünyada olduğu gibi- Türkiye’de de insanların geleneksel toplum değerlerinden uzaklaştığı görülmektedir. Toplumsal bir varlık olan insanın gittikçe bencilleştiğine, duyarsızlaştığına tanık olunmaktadır. Çünkü küreselleşme olarak adlandırılan sürecin bir yansıması olarak inşa edilen yeni dünya düzeninde insan tüketimin bir aracı hâline getirilmektedir. Oysa geleneksel Türk kültüründe ölçülü tüketime ve diğer insanları da düşünmenin önemine vurgu yapılır. İnsan “ben” düşüncesinden “biz” düşüncesine yönlendirilir. Böylelikle insan, amaçların toplumsal olanıyla kişisel olanı arasında bir denge kurar. Toplum, bu dengenin kuruluşunda devreye girer ve insanları liyakat esasına göre değerlendirir. Çalışmamızda kişinin ben ve bencillik duygusunun oluşumu, geleneksel toplum yapısı ile yaşanılan süreçte değişen/dönüşen toplum yapısı üzerinde durulacaktır. Olması gerekenin insanın biz düşüncesiyle topluma katkı sağlaması, üretken ve dayanışmacı bir kişiliğe ulaşması düşüncesi işlenecektir.

The formation of a person’s “I” feeling takes place in a long process. While socializing and interacting with other people, he learns social values and regulates his attitudes and behaviors according to these values. In this process, it also begins to contribute to the social structure. This is a feature and necessity of traditional social structure. This point, where the needs of both the individual and the society intersect, is a necessity for the continuation of social life. In the process, it is seen that people move away from traditional social values in Turkey as well as in the whole world. It is witnessed that the human being, who is a social being, becomes increasingly selfish and insensitive. Because, in the new world order built as a reflection of the process called globalization, human beings are made a tool of consumption. However, in traditional Turkish culture, the importance of moderate consumption and thinking about other people is emphasized. People are led from the thought of “I” to the thought of “we”. In this way, a person establishes a balance between the social and the personal goals. Society intervenes in the establishment of this balance and evaluates people on the basis of merit. In our study, the formation of a person’s sense of self and selfishness, the traditional social structure and the changing / transforming society structure in the process will be emphasized. The idea of contributing to the society with the idea of “us” and reaching a productive and solidaristic personality will be discussed.
