Etnîk çatışmalarda siyîl toplum örgütleri ve bakışa yönelik katkıları

Bu makale, iç savaş yaşanan ülkelerin barışı tesis sürecinde sivil toplum örgütlerinin rollerini ve bu örgütlerin etkinliğini tartışmayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma, sivil toplum örgütlerini tanımlayan, kısa tarihsel geçmişleri ile temel özelliklerine değinen kısa bir bilgi notu ile başlamaktadır. Bunun ardından, çatışma ortamlarında sivil toplum örgütlerinin değişik yapıcı rolleri ayrıntılı bir biçimde irdelenmektedir. Çalışmayı sonlandır irken, sivil toplum örgütlerinin barışın tesisi sürecinde karşılaştıkları çeşitli güçlüklere ve sorunlu alanlara da değinilmektedir.

Non-govemmentai organizations in ethnic conflicts and their contributions to peace

This article discusses the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in peacemaking in war-torn countries and evaluates the efficacy of these organizations. The study starts with an overview of NGOs, defining them, talking about their historic background and basic characteristics. Then various constructive roles that NGOs can play in conflict settings are discussed in detail. Many significant issues and problematic areas that NGOs face in the process of peacemaking are also addressed in concluding the study.
