Investigation of the relationship between increased leukocyte levels and blood lipid peroxidation in the sick cattle with leukocytosis

This study was designed to investigate whether there was a relationship between increased leukocyte levels and blood lipid peroxidation in cows with leukocytosis. Elevation or/and activation of leukocytes cause an increase in the production of free radicals leading to the lipid peroxidation. Malondialdehide MDA is the most important marker for lipid peroxidation. Forty cows were investigated. Twenty animals diagnosed with leukocytosis were chosen to represent sick group. Twenty healthy animals were chosen as Controls. Blood samples were drown to measure MDA and glutathione levels. It was found that MDA level was signifıcantly higher P
