Nöral, nöromusküler ve müsküler fonksiyon yetersizliklerinden kaynaklanan hastalıklar; solunum ve kalp yetmezliği gibi yaşamı tehdit eden perioperatif komplikasyonlarla ilişkili olabilir. Böyle hastalar anesteziklere beklenen yanıtı vermeyebilirler.
