Hayvanlarda Akupunktur Analjezisi

Akupunktur eski bir Çin tedavi metodudur. Modern tıpta ağrı dindirmede ve bir tür anestezi ortaya çıkartmada değerini kanıtlamıştır. Ülkemizde hala deneysel düzeydedir. Ağrı tedavisinde kullanılsa da analjezi mekanizmalarını ortaya çıkarmak için daha fazla klinik çalışmaya ihtiyaç vardır. Ülkemizde veteriner hekimliğinde akupunkturun kullanımı son derece kısıtlıdır ve önemi de vurgulanmamıştır. Bir laparatomi operasyonunun akupunktur anestezisi altında yapılabileceği yayınlarda açıkça belirtilmiş olmasına rağmen preaneztezik ilaçlara ne derecede ihtiyacımız olduğu bilinmemektedir. Bu makalede akupunkturla ilgili çalışmalar, yeni gelişmeler ışığında gözden geçirilmiştir

Acupuncture Analgesia in Animals

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese therapy. Acupuncture has proved its value in our modern practice as a method of easing pain and producing a type of anesthesia. Acupuncture is still experimental in this country. Although it is used for pain therapy we need some more clinical and experimental study to evaluate analgesic mechanisms. In veterinary medicine use of acupuncture is extremely limited and its advantages have not been emphasized. Even though it has been well documented that a laparotomy can be performed under acupuncture analgesia it is not known to what extend werequire preanesthesia preparations.
