bulunan Staphylococcus aureus idi (%31.4). İkinci sırada 35 olgunun 2’sinde
üreyen Beta Hemolitik Streptokoklar bulundu (%5). Yüzey ve merkez
mikrobiyolojisi arasındaki fark istatistiksel olarak anlamlıydı (p<0.05).
The Microbiology of Tonsil Surface and Tonsil Centre in and Around Van
This study was conducted
on 35 patients, operated for tonsillectomy, hospitalized betuıeen March-
November 1994 in order to identify the presence of microbial causative on the
surface and çentme of tonsils. Of the patients, 17 were female and 18 were male
ıvith ages ranging from 3 to 22, (the mean age 11,3). In 23 patients (65,7 %)
identical microorganisms ıvere cultivated on the surface and in the center of
tonsils, and in the rest, different microorganisms ıvere observed (34.3 %).
The most cultivated pathogen, found in 11 out of 35 cases, in the center of
tonsils was Staphylococcus aureus (31,4 %). This was folloıved by Beta
Hemolytic Streptococcus, occurring in 2 cases out of 35 (5,7 °/o). The
difference betuıeen the surface and centre microbiology were found significant
statistically (p<0,05).
