Fransız Cyprien Fabre Vapur Kumpanyası(Compagnie Française de Navigation à Vapeur Cyprien Fabre) ve Levant Limanlarındaki Faaliyetleri (1868-1914)

Cyprien Fabre Kumpanyası, Fransızların Levant limanlarında faaliyet gösteren en etkin iki buharlı nakliyat kumpanyasından biridir. Fransız çıkarlarının Suriye ve Lübnan’da genişlemesi ve kalıcı hale gelmesinde önemli rol oynamıştır. Doğu Akdeniz’den New-York ve Güney Amerika’ya kadar doğrudan bir göçmen hattı açan ilk Fransız şirket olan Cyprien Fabre, bu hat ile özdeşleşmiş ve dünya denizcilik tarihinde Fabre Line/Immigrant Line olarak şöhret bulmuştur. Kumpanya’nın Lübnan’dan Suriye, Mersin ve İzmir’e kadar uzanan Doğu Akdeniz havzasındaki faaliyetleri genellikle göçmen ve mülteci taşımacılığı üzerine inşa edilmiştir. Bu bağlamda çalışmada, Fabre Kumpanyası’nın Doğu Akdeniz’den Marsilya ve Amerika’ya kadar uzanan Fabre Line hattındaki faaliyetleri ele alınmaya çalışılmıştır.

French Cyprien Fabre Shipping Company and it’s activities in the Ports of Levant

The Cyprien Fabre Company is one of the two most active French shipping companies that operating in the ports of Levant. This company played an important role in the expansion and permanence of French interests in Syria and Lebanon. Cyprien Fabre Company, the first French company to open a direct immigrant line from the East Mediterranean to New York and South America, has become synonymous with this line and has found fame as Fabre Line / Immigrant Line in the world shipping history. The activities of the Company are generally based on the emigrants and refugees from Lebanon, to Syria, Mersin and Smyrna in the Eastern Mediterranean basin. In this study, was tried to be discussed the activities of the Cyprien Fabre Company on the Fabre Line from the Eastern Mediterranean to Marseilles and America.
