LEADERSHIP INITIATIVES IN TERMS OF NON-POSITONAL OF VOCATIONAL SCHOOL STUDENTS
n this study, it was attempted to determine quantitatively and qualitatively what constitutesnon-positional leadership initiatives of Vocational School students. The research was designed inaccordance with the qualitative research paradigm. The study group consisted of 14 students in avocational college of a university in Central Anatolia, 3 departments of which were technical and4 departments of which were social. Purpose sampling methods technique was used for definethe study group. The research data were collected by means of a semi-structured interview formprepared by the researchers. The data were analyzed by content analysis method. Findingsshowed that leadership initiatives of students were consist of academic, socio-cultural, sportiveand limited problem solving. The average number of initiative per student in the study period istwo. The number of leadership initiatives that students want to do is fewer than the number ofinitiatives they have made. Students show their peer groups and managers who do not want totake risks as an obstacle to leadership initiatives. Some suggestions based on the findingsobtained within the scope of the research are presented.
