YENİDOĞAN İŞİTME TARAMA PROGRAMI: NEDEN ÖNEMLİ VE NEREDEYİZ?

İşitme kaybında erken tanı ve müdahalenin önemi uzun süredir biliniyor olmasına rağmen, gerekli tanıaraçlarının olmaması ve sağlık politikalarının yetersizliği nedeniyle, Yenidoğan İşitme TaramaProgramı’nın (YİTP) yaşama geçirilmesi oldukça gecikmiştir. İşitme kaybının erken tanısı ve müdahalesinihedefleyen YİTP, gelişen teknoloji ve değişen sağlık politikaları sonrası dünya genelinde hızlıca yaygınlıkkazanmıştır. Program, işitme kaybını erken dönemde tanılayıp, erken müdahale kapsamında işitmekaybının gelişim üzerindeki olumsuz etkilerini daha ortaya çıkmadan önlemeyi veya azaltmayıhedeflemektedir. Yenidoğanların hastaneden çıkmadan önce işitme kaybına yönelik taranmasını zorunlukılan YİTP, ülkemizde 2000 yılında pilot uygulamayla başlatılmıştır. 2004 yılı itibariyle ülke çapındaUlusal Yenidoğan İşitme Tarama Programı (UYİTP) yaygınlaştırılmıştır. Program, 2017 yılı itibariyleTürkiye genelinde tüm illerde büyük bir başarıyla devam etmektedir. Ülkemiz sağlık politikaları arasındaözel bir yere sahip UYİTP’nin önemine dikkat çekmeyi amaçlayan mevcut derlemede UYİTP’ninözelliklerine, işleyişine, hedeflerine ve bu hedeflerin ulaştığı noktalara yer verilmiştir. Bu doğrultudabaşlangıçtan günümüze UYİTP’nin seyri betimlenerek, programa ilişkin alanyazın bilgileri yazarın klinikdeneyimi temelinde yorumlanmaya çalışılmıştır.

NEWBORN HEARING SCREENING PROGRAM: WHY IS IMPORTANT AND WHERE ARE WE?

The importance of early diagnosing and early intervention of hearing loss is known for a long time, Newborn Hearing Screening Program (NHSP) couldn’t be put into practice hence the lack of dignostic tools and health policy. Evolving technology and the changing health policies have led to the widespread use of NHSP targeting early detection and intervention of hearing loss around the World. NHSP intends to eliminate detorative effects of hearing loss on the developmental process of the children by diagnosing hearing loss at the early stage and letting the early intervention begin. There is a great decrease of developmental problems due to hearing loss after the NHSP which is obligated for babies to be screened for hearing loss before leaving the hospital. The National Newborn Hearing Screening Program (NNHSP), was initiated in 2000 in our country as a pilot application, has been expanded throughout the country with the year of 2004. With the year 2017, it has been successfully applied in every cities across Turkey. In this context, it is aimed to emphasized the importance of NNHSP in the review article. For this purpose, it’s the features, principles and objectives of NNHSP has been described. It has been tried to evaluate the literature on NNHSP, based on the author's clinical experience.
