Katılımcıların %91’i ücretli bir işte çalışmamaktadır. Ücretli işte çalışmak isteyenlerin %33,7’si 65-69 yaş aralığındadır (p

Impact of Socio-Demographic Characteristics on Productive Aging

In this study, it is aimed to determine the effect of socio-demographic characteristics on productive aging based on the hypothesis that older individuals are productive in paid and unpaid areas. Material and methods: We conducted this descriptive and cross-sectional study employing quantitative data collection techniques within the borders of Turkey and collected the data between October and November 2021. The sample group consisted of a total of 200 participants aged 60 and over. The questionnaire prepared online was sent to the participants by snowball method. In the collection of data, 2 different questionnaires were created by the researchers by scanning the relevant literature. Descriptive statistical methods (number, percentage, mean, standard deviation) and Chi square test were used in data analysis. Ethics Committee approval was obtained from Süleyman Demirel University Ethical Commissions of Clinical Research (Decision No. 19/298 of 24.09.2021). Results: Approximately 56% of the participants are married, 57% are women and 41% are literate and elementary school level. 91% of respondents do not work in a paid job. 33.7% of those who want to work in paid work are between the ages of 65 and 69 (p
