Faruk Nafiz Çamlıbel'in Suda Halkalar adlı şiir kitabı günümüze kadar Latin harflerine aktarılmamıştır. Bu eserde kullanılan su imajları ve benzetmeler Türk şiirine yeni yaklaşımlar ve çağrışımlar getirmiştir. Eserdeki su imajları bazen şairin ruhu ve hayalleri yerine kullanılırken bazen de sevgili ile beraber düşünülen bir arka fon olarak kullanılmıştır. Şair su imajlarını karamsar tablolar halinde oluşturmuştur. Bu tablolarda şair ve sevgilisi vardır. Su imajları ve şairin hayalleri şiirin değişmez arka fonlarını oluştururlar. Şiirdeki arka fonlar birer leit motif olarak gider gelirler. Şairin oluşturduğu bu tablolarda görsellik ve kişisellik ön plana çıkar. Eserdeki benzetmeler ise klâsik Türk şiirindeki benzetmelerden farklı oluşturulmuştur. Bu benzetmeler şiire farklı anlam başkalaşmaları katmıştır. Benzetmeler yoluyla şiirin düşünsel temellere dayandırılması, şiire yeni anlam kapılarının açılması yeni Türk şiirinin ciddi kazanımlarından biri olarak düşünülebilir. Hem benzetmelerde hem de şiirde kullanılan su imajlarında geçmişin karamsar duygularla hatırlandığını ve geçmişe özlem duyulduğunu görmekteyiz. Bu yönüyle geçmiş; şairin hayallerini, matem duygusunu, su imajlarını ve benzetmeleri etkileyerek şiire yansır. Eserdeki benzetmeler muhayyel, görsel, şiirsel zemini güçlü benzetmeler şeklinde gruplandırılabilir. Bu benzetmelerde karamsarlık ve hüzün duyguları hâkimdir. Şairin kullandığı imajlar ve benzetmeler Türk şiiri için birer yenilik olarak değerlendirilebilir. Suda Halkalar adlı eser üzerine yapılan bu ilk araştırma, Çamlıbel'in şiiriyetini daha iyi anlamamıza ve edebî çizgisini belirlememize yardımcı olacaktır.

Suda Halkalar (Circles in Water) which the poetry book of Faruk Nafiz Çamlıbel, has not been translated into the Latin alphabet to the present day. The images of the water and metaphors which used in this work brought new connotations and approaches to the Turkish poetry. The images of the water in the poetry book are used instead of the poet's soul and dreams sometimes. These images are thought with poet's darling and sometimes are used as a background. The poet formed the images of the water in his poem sadly. There are the poet and his darling in these tables. The images of the water and the dreams of the poet form the background of the poem. The backgrounds in this poem are repeated as a leitmotiv. Visuality and individuality becomes important feature in these tables created by the poet. The metaphors in the work created differently from classical Turkish poetry. These metaphors brought a new meaning to the poem. The poem based on the intellectual grounds via metaphors. This can be considered as one of the significant achievements of Turkish poetry. We can see that the past remembered and desired both in poetry and metaphors by pessimistic feeling. In this respect the past affects the poet's dreams combining with a sense of mourning, water images and metaphors in poetry. The metaphors can be grouped as imaginary, visual and strongly poetic ground. The feelings of pessimism and sadness are predominant in these metaphors. The images and metaphors used by the poet can be considered as an improvement for Turkish poetry. It is the first research done on Suda Halkalar (Circles in Water) will help to better understand and identify Çamlıbel's aspect of poetry and literary line.
