Meslek Aşkı, İşin Anlamlılığı ve Mutluluk İlişkisi: Turizm Eğitimi Alan Öğrenciler Üzerine Bir Araştırma*

Bu çalışmanın amacı, üniversite düzeyinde turizm eğitimi alan önlisans ve lisans programlarındaki öğrencilerin meslek aşkı, işin anlamlılığı ve mutluluğa yönelik algılarını belirlemek ve bu değişkenler arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma evrenini Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli Üniversitesi’nde (NHBVÜ) turizm eğitimi alan önlisans ve lisans programlarında okuyan öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Buna göre araştırmanın yapıldığı tarihte (Ocak 2020) Nevşehir HBV Üniversitesi’nde ÜSET Meslek Yüksekokulu ve Turizm Fakültesi’nde turizm programlarında kayıtlı öğrenci sayısının 2365 olduğu belirlenmiştir. Anket formuyla ilgili düzenlemeler yapıldıktan sonra Google akademik formlar yardımıyla 330 adet anket formu çalışmaya katılmaya gönüllü olan öğrencilerden toplanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda çeşitli istatistiksel yöntemler kullanılarak bulgulara ulaşılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda meslek aşkının ve işin anlamlılığının mutluluk üzerinde etkili olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar, çalışmaya katılan turizm bölümü öğrencilerinin iş hayatında tam olarak yer almamasının meslek aşkı ve mutluluk ilişkisini etkilediği görülmektedir. Meslekte belirli bir süre geçiren bireyler üzerinde yürütülecek çalışmaların daha farklı sonuçlar elde etmesi muhtemel görülmektedir.

The Relationship Between Calling, Meaning of Work and Happiness: A Research on Tourism Students

The aim of this study is to determine the perceptions of students in undergraduate and associate degree programs of tourism towards calling, meaning of work and happiness and to reveal the relationship between these variables. The population of the research is the students who study in associate and undergraduate programs in Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University. The data used in the study were collected from the students who agreed to participate in the study with an online survey method. In the study, the data obtained from 319 questionnaires were evaluated. According to the results of the research, it was concluded that calling and meaning of work did not affect happiness. However, calling positively affects the meaning of work. It may be effective on these results that the students participating in the research do not work full time in business life. Different results can be obtained with studies to be carried out on individuals who spend a certain time in the job and tourism sector. Some suggestions for businesses and researchers are presented in the study
