Teflon ve sağlık etkileri

İnsanlar, yaşam boyu çevrede bulunan kimyasalların etkisinde kalmaktadır ve insan vücut sıvılarında, dokularında bazı kimyasallara sıkça rastlanmaktadır. Kimyasal maddelerin bazıları çevrede kalıcıdır ve kronik etkilenme nedeniyle insan sağlığına etkileri de süreklidir. İnsan vücut sıvıları ve dokularında birikmekte ve düzeyleri sürekli artmaktadır. Çevrede kalıcı olmaları, insanların bu maddelerden uzun yıllar boyunca etkilenmesine neden olmaktadır. Bu derlemede bu kimyasal maddelerden biri olan teflonun teflon yapımında kullanılan maddeler, yıkım ürünlerinin ve bunların sağlık etkileri değerlendirilmiştir.

Teflon and the health consequences

Human beings are affected by chemicals in the environment. Some chemicals are persistent in the environment and the chronic exposure to these chemicals leads to some health consequences in human. Traces of a large variety of both natural and man-made compounds can be found in the tissues and body fluids as a result of exposure to these compounds in air, soil, water, food, and consumer products. In this review one of these chemicals, teflon, teflon products and their health consequences are evaluated.
