Çocukları evde bekleyen tehlike: Korozif özofagus yanıkları

Günlük yaşamda sıkça kullanılmakta olan temizlik malzemelerinin uygunsuz saklama koşulları çocuklar için büyük tehlikeler oluşturmaktadır. Korozif içerikli, özellikle alkali solüsyonlarının içilmesi özofagusda korozif yanığa, özofagus veya midede perforasyona ve sonuçta ölüme neden olabilir. Erken dönemde özofagusda oluşan hasarlara bağlı olarak darlık gelişmekte ve bunların tedavisi oldukça zor ve uzun olmaktadır. Bu derlemede çocuklarda özofagus yanıklarına neden olabilecek temizlik malzemeleri, özofagus yanıkları ve sonrasında oluşan darlığın tanı, tedavisi ve koruyucu hekimlikte yapılması gerekenler tartışıldı.

Dangers to children at home: Corrosive esophageal burn

Inappropriate storage of cleaners which excessively used in daily is hazardous to children. Ingestion of potent corrosive agents, especially alkaline solutions may lead to acute esophageal burns, esophageal or stomach perforation, and even to death. Early of these injuries may be associated with esophageal strictures in later and the treatment of strictures might be and take long follow-up. This article reviews related issues on the diagnosis and management of esophageal burns, strictures and preventive medicine in children.
